Bernard Morizot

Who they were

Bernard Morizot was a layman born at Avallon on 2 April 1924 and baptised on 8 June, active in his local Christian community, in the Catholic sports club of the town and at the school of Saint-Joseph. At nineteen he was put into the compulsory labour service in March 1943 and moved to Cologne-Ossendorf, and he died on 20 April 1945, aged 21, during the evacuation of Buchenwald. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
