Who they were
Bernardino María Martínez Robles was a lay brother of the Third Order Capuchin of the Sorrowful Virgin, born in the town of Andújar in the province of Jaén; the decree calls him a true Franciscan who carried peace and goodness among his brethren, and he was martyred in the town of Turis on 16 September 1936 together with two companions.
He was beatified on 11 March 2001 by John Paul II, among Vicente Cabanes Badenas and his eighteen companions of the Third Order Capuchin of the Sorrowful Virgin and the laywoman María del Carmen García Moyon.
