Who they were
At Udine, Blessed Bertram, bishop of Aquileia and martyr, who took careful care over the formation of the clergy, fed the poor at his own expense in time of famine, strenuously defended the rights of his Church, and died in his nineties, struck down by hired assassins.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 6 June as a bishop of Aquileia who fed the poor in famine and was killed by assassins in his nineties.
