Blessed Margaret of Savoy

Who they were
Margaret, only daughter of Louis of Savoy, married Theodore, Marquis of Montferrat, in 1403. Her piety grew after she heard St Vincent Ferrer preach.
Widowed in 1418, she left the marquisate to her stepson, joined the Third Order of St Dominic at Alba, and refused a proposal from the Duke of Milan. With several young women she founded a monastery, and died there in a saintly manner on 23 November 1464.
