Brioc
5th-century Welsh abbot of Saint-Brieuc in Brittany and Llandyfriog in Wales

Who they were
Brioc (Brieuc), a Celtic saint of Brittany, was educated in Ireland and under St Germanus. After his ordination he set out as a missionary; in 480 he settled in Armorica and founded a monastery, then an oratory at St-Brieuc-des-Vaux, of which he became first bishop.
His Acts record many miracles, among them the cure of Count Riguel, who gave him his palace and estates. He died in his own monastery, probably about 502.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
