Who they were
Broccán is remembered as the author of an early Irish hymn on St Brigid. Several holy men bore the name, and it is uncertain which details belong to whom.
He is probably the Abbot Brochanus of Ros Tuirc named in the life of St Abban. He lived in the sixth or seventh century.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
A monk who sang the praises of St Brigid.
