Who they were
Bruno Sserunkuma was born at Mbalé and baptised on 15 November 1885. He served King Mutesa, then became a soldier when Mwanga succeeded.
Among the young Christians at court, at 26 he sustained his companions by word and example. As he died he said: 'A fountain with many sources will never run dry.' He is one of the 22 martyrs of Uganda, St Charles Lwanga, St Matthias Mulumba Kalemba and companions, put to death under King Mwanga.
