Who they were
Raised by the Salesians of Sondrio, he was sent to Shiuchow in southern China, became Salesian provincial for China in 1930 and opened orphanages and schools in Macau, Hong Kong and Peking before moving the work to the Philippines, where he was provincial from 1955.
