Missionary Sister of the Heart of Mary, teacher, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Carmen Fradera Ferragutcasas was born on 25 October 1895 at Riudarenes, Girona, entered the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Heart of Mary on 2 July 1921 at the novitiate house in Mataró and made her religious profession on 2 February 1923, then taught in the Institute's school at Mataró, where she had charge of the infant school and was admired for the patience, charity and great love she brought to her teaching. She was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI with her two sisters.

As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.
