Piedmontese layman who lived as a wandering pilgrim and died destitute in Spain
Who they were
A farmer's son from Cavagnolo near Turin, he set out in 1875 to live as a pilgrim on foot, travelling to Rome, Santiago, Lourdes and La Salette, and died of pneumonia at Alcoy in Spain in 1884. Santiebeati gives his date of birth as 31 January 1857, where the Hagiography Circle has 23 January.
