Who they were
At Clermont-Ferrand in Aquitaine, in the territory of present-day France, Saints Cassius and Victorinus, martyrs, who are believed to have suffered martyrdom under Chrocus, chief of the Alamanni.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 15 May as a martyr at Clermont-Ferrand, believed to have been killed under Chrocus, chief of the Alamanni.
