Who they were
In the extermination camp of Auschwitz near Kraków in Poland, Blessed Celestina Catarina Faron, virgin of the Congregation of the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception and martyr, who, during the military occupation of Poland in time of war, was thrown into prison for her faith in Christ and, after being subjected to tortures, obtained the glorious crown.

Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 9 April as a religious sister and martyr imprisoned and tortured for her faith, who died at Auschwitz.
