Who they were
César de Bus was born at Cavaillon, in Provence, then part of the Papal States, on 3 February 1544. Converted from a worldly life, he became a priest and gave himself to preaching and teaching the catechism, founding the Fathers of Christian Doctrine.
Even after he went blind he went on preaching and hearing confessions. He died in Avignon on 15 April 1607.

Two healings were approved for his beatification: Pasquale Favino at Ascoli Satriano in 1911, and Maria Bianco at San Damiano d'Asti in 1943.
A young woman — Salerno, Italy — 2016
A young woman from Salerno had a brain haemorrhage from a burst malformation of the blood vessels, with acute hydrocephalus, followed by meningitis from a hospital superbug. On 5 March 2020 the Vatican's medical board found her healing rapid, complete, lasting and scientifically inexplicable.
Why that counted as sanctity
The case of Pasquale Favino and Maria Bianco was examined by the Church's doctors and theologians and approved as a miracle, opening the way to beatification. Beatification followed on 27 April 1975 by Paul VI. The case of a young woman was examined by the Church's doctors and theologians and approved as a miracle on 26 May 2020, opening the way to canonisation. Canonisation followed on 15 May 2022 by Francis.
