After a conversion between 1703 and 1710 the couple trained in medicine and turned their château at Taden near Dinan into a hospital for the sick and poor.

Bishop Denis Moutel of Saint-Brieuc and Tréguier opened the beatification and canonization inquiry of the Servant of God Claude-Toussaint Marot de la Garaye and his wife on 22 September 2024 at the church of Saint-Malo in Dinan; the two are treated as a joint cause of 'the charitable spouses'. Note: the diocesan site gives his birth as 27 October 1675 in Rennes, where the Hagiography Circle record says 30 October.
