Clemente Rodríguez Tejerina

Who they were

Clemente Rodríguez Tejerina was born on 23 July 1918 at Santa Olaja de la Varga in the province and diocese of León and made his first religious profession on 16 July 1935. Arrested on 15 October 1936 and taken to the prison of St Anthony in Madrid, he was killed at Paracuellos de Jarama on 28 November following, and was beatified with the Spanish martyrs of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate on 17 December 2011 by Benedict XVI.
