Who they were
Sedulius was a Christian poet of the fifth century, probably a layman who lived first in Italy and studied philosophy. After giving himself at first to secular studies and poetry, he turned to sacred themes.
His chief work is the Carmen Paschale, a poem in five books summarising the Old and New Testaments.

The Catholic Encyclopedia does not describe how he came to be honoured as a saint.
