Colman mac Duagh

Who they were

Colman, born at Kiltartan about 560, lived for many years as a hermit on Aran, where he built two churches, then sought greater solitude in the woods of the Burren in 592.

In 610 he founded a monastery that became the centre of the diocese of Kilmacduagh, of which he is bishop and patron. He died on 29 October 632.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
