Who they were
Colomba, born at Rieti in Umbria in 1467, was one of a number of holy Dominican tertiaries raised up in protest against the irreligion of Italy in her time, who took St Catherine of Siena as their model.
From girlhood she practised austere penances and lived almost entirely on the Blessed Sacrament, to which she had an intense devotion; her life was marked by miracles from the start. She died at Perugia in 1501.

She is honoured as Blessed by long-standing veneration; the Catholic Encyclopedia does not describe a formal cause.
