Conrad of Ascoli

Who they were
Conrad Milliano, born at Ascoli in 1234, made penance the centre of his life from childhood. He joined the Franciscans with his lifelong friend Girolamo, later Pope Nicholas IV, taught theology in Rome, and preached with much fruit in Libya, working many miracles.
He later taught at Paris, preaching and nursing the sick when not teaching. Summoned to Rome in 1288 by Nicholas IV, who wished to make him a cardinal, he died on the way at Ascoli on 19 April 1289. His body was later found incorrupt.

Pope Pius VI approved the honour paid to him as Blessed.

A missionary friar who lived penance and served the sick.
