Conrad of Parzham

Who they were
Johann Birndorfer was born at the Venushof in Parzham, Bavaria, on 22 December 1818, the eleventh of twelve children of rich, devout farmers, and was orphaned at sixteen. He went to Mass daily in the Bavarian Catholic tradition.
As Brother Conrad, a Capuchin, for over forty years he was porter of the friary, always generous to the poor, never sending anyone away without kind words of Christian comfort: 'the holy porter'.
