In northern Africa, in present-day Libyan and Tunisian territory, the commemoration of the holy martyrs Papinian of Vita and Mansuetus of Urusi, bishops, who, during the Vandal persecution, brought their glorious combat to completion, burned over their whole bodies with red-hot plates of iron for having defended the Catholic faith against the Arian king Genseric. At that time also the holy bishops Urban of Djerba, Crescens of Byzacena, Habetdeus of Theudalis, Eustratius of Sufes, Cresconius of Tripoli, Vices of Sabratha, Felix of Sousse, and finally, under Hunneric the son of Genseric, the bishops Ortolan of Bennefa and Florentian of Mdila, condemned to exile, ended the course of their lives as confessors of the faith.
