Who they were

A professed priest of the Hospitaller Order of St John of God, in the world Miguel, born on 6 June 1899 at Molins de Rey in the diocese of Barcelona; at his death he was rector of the apostolic school of the Holy Family at Carabanchel Alto. He was one of twelve religious of the community of Carabanchel Alto near Madrid, who were caught taking food to the sick and shot at Boadilla del Monte on 1 September 1936, crying 'Long live Christ the King'. He was beatified on 25 October 1992 by John Paul II, among Braulio María Corres, Federico Rubio and sixty-nine companions of the Hospitaller Order of St John of God.

The Roman Martyrology names him among the Hospitaller martyrs of Spain.
