Who they were
In Palestine, Saint Cyriacus, anchorite, who for about ninety years led a life of great austerity in caves and was a model for anchorites and a defender of the truth of the faith against the errors of the Origenists.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 29 September as a Palestinian anchorite who defended the faith against the Origenists.
