Who they were

Daniel Brottier was born on 7 September 1876 at La Ferté-Saint-Cyr, in the diocese of Blois, and ordained in 1899. In 1902 he joined the Holy Ghost Fathers and left almost at once for Senegal, where he served the Christian community of Saint-Louis, especially the young, until ill health forced him home for good.

In France he devoted himself to building up a work for orphans. He died in 1936.

The miracles

The Dicastery's biography does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

A missionary who, when illness sent him home, found his mission among the orphans of France.
