Who they were
In the territory of Lyon in France, the passion of Saint Desiderius, bishop of Vienne, who, having rebuked Queen Brunhilda for her incestuous marriage and other depravities, was first sent into exile by her and then, again at her order, stoned, thus earning the crown of martyrdom.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 26 May as a bishop of Vienne stoned at Queen Brunhilda's order after he rebuked her.
