Who they were
Domenico Barberi was born at Viterbo on 22 June 1792 and joined the Passionists at 22 as Dominic of the Mother of God.
After ordination he preached in Italy and above all in England, where, devoted to the unity of Christians, he received very many faithful and ministers into the Catholic Church, among them John Henry Newman.
