Donato Giannotti
Italian priest of Capua who founded orphanages and the Handmaids of the Immaculate
Who they were
Ordained for Capua in 1853, he opened orphanages at Santa Maria Capua Vetere from 1869 and founded the Ancelle di Maria Immacolata (Handmaids of the Immaculate), dying there on 26 February 1914. The congregation gives his birth as 6 June 1828, not 28 June as in the process summary.

His congregation maintains his cause, which the archdiocese of Capua took up after the nihil obstat of 1996; both the congregation and the archdiocese still call him Servant of God, so he is recorded at that step, although the process summary records a decree on his heroic virtues on 19 December 2011.
