Who they were
Bonnín was a layman of Palma de Mallorca who began the Cursillos de Cristiandad, the first of which was held at Cala Figuera in August 1944, and spent his life spreading the movement.

Why that counted as sanctity
The chancellor of the diocese of Mallorca read the opening act of his cause at the Capuchin church in Palma on 5 February 2015, with the diocesan Cursillos secretariat as actor; the Holy See gave the nihil obstat on 21 July 2018 and the diocesan inquiry opened on 28 November 2018.
