Who they were
At Córdoba in Andalusia in Spain, the holy martyrs Emila, deacon, and Jeremiah, who, during the persecution of the Moors, after being left for a long time to rot in prison, completed their martyrdom for Christ by beheading.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 15 September as a deacon beheaded at Córdoba after long imprisonment under the Moors.
