Enrique de Ossó y Cervelló
Spanish priest, writer and educator (1840–1896)

Who they were
Enrique de Ossó y Cervelló was born at Vinebre, in the diocese of Tortosa, on 16 October 1840; his mother dreamed of seeing him a priest. He was one of the men of God who kept the Christian faith alive in nineteenth-century Spain, with unshakable fidelity to the Church and the Holy See.
To educate girls he founded the Society of St Teresa of Jesus. Later removed from it, he spent his last years in a Franciscan friary.
