Hungarian priest, theologian and philosopher, killed by the Arrow Cross
Who they were
A priest of Jewish descent and a philosopher, he worked through the Holy Cross Association to rescue persecuted Jews and wore the yellow star although not required to; he was shot into the Danube by Arrow Cross men in December 1944, aged 32.

Why that counted as sanctity
Cardinal Péter Erdő and the Archdiocese of Esztergom-Budapest, with the approval of the Hungarian Bishops' Conference, began his beatification and canonisation process in 2025, naming Flavio Depaula as postulator; he is therefore called a Servant of God.
