Eulogius of Córdoba

Who they were

Eulogius, of a noble Christian family of Córdoba, was a priest highly esteemed by 848, under the Muslim caliphs. He wrote the lives of the martyrs of the persecution of his time, in which he himself took a great part.

He was elected Archbishop of Toledo shortly before he was beheaded on 11 March 859.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
