Eulogius of Tarragona

Who they were

At Tarragona in Hither Spain, the passion of the holy martyrs Fructuosus, bishop, Augurius and Eulogius, his deacons: under the emperors Valerian and Gallienus, after confessing their faith before the procurator Aemilianus, they were led into the amphitheatre, where, after the bishop had addressed aloud to the faithful present a prayer for the peace of the Church, they completed their martyrdom thrown into the flames and praying on their knees.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 21 January as a deacon burned with his bishop Fructuosus in the amphitheatre of Tarragona.
