Who they were
At Ankara in Galatia, in present-day Turkey, the holy martyrs Theodotus and Tecusa, his aunt, Alexandra, Claudia, Phaine, Euphrasia, Matrona and Julitta, virgins; these last were first forced into prostitution by the governor and then sunk in a marsh with stones tied round their necks.

There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 18 May as a virgin martyred at Ankara in Galatia, drowned in a marsh with stones tied round her neck.
