Who they were
Eusebia Palomino Yenes was born on 15 December 1899 at Cantalpino, Salamanca, into a family rich in faith and poor in means; her father was a seasonal farm labourer, and in winter bread ran short.
A Salesian Sister, a Daughter of Mary Help of Christians, she was assigned to the house at Valverde del Camino in the mining country of Andalusia. Without any show, in the humblest work and with self-denial, she reached the heights of grace and spread true devotion to Mary. When she died the whole town said: 'A saint has died.'
