Who they were
Eutychian succeeded Pope Felix I and governed the Church from January 275 until 7 December 283, in a time of peace after the death of Aurelian.
Little is known of his pontificate, and he probably did not die a martyr. He was buried in the papal chapel of the Catacomb of Callistus, where his epitaph was found.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
