Dutch Franciscan lay brother known as the Holy Little Brother of Megen
Who they were
Born at Hoorn and raised in Alkmaar, he entered the Franciscans as a lay brother after two failed attempts to become a priest and spent nearly fifty years as porter at Megen, where his listening and his praying earned him the nickname het heilig Bruurke van Megen. The Dutch bishops' conference gives 1868 and 1950 as his dates, which match the Hagiography Circle's.

Why that counted as sanctity
His process began in 1954, was formally paused in 1971, and Bishop Gerard de Korte of 's-Hertogenbosch reopened it in a solemn session on 20 June 2023, swearing in the tribunal, historical commission and vice-postulator.
