Why that counted as sanctity
Fathi Baladi was a nineteen-year-old Lebanese Catholic killed in Beirut on 31 December 1980; his cause holds that he was killed by extremists because he was a Christian. The cause was begun in 1984 and the Congregation for the Causes of Saints approved the process on his martyrdom, with the nihil obstat dated 10 September 2018; the Melkite Greek Catholic archeparchy of Beirut and Byblos is the competent forum.
