Who they were
Federico Albert was born at Turin on 16 October 1820. As a priest he was first a court chaplain and then parish priest of Lanzo Torinese, where he invited Don Bosco. He humbly refused the bishopric of Pinerolo.
He founded the Vincentian Sisters of Mary Immaculate, the Albertines, to educate the young and care for the sick and needy in the spirit of St Vincent de Paul. He died at Lanzo Torinese on 30 September 1876.
