Who they were
Felice Maria Cappello was a Jesuit priest from Caviola, in the Diocese of Belluno-Feltre, Italy. He was a canon lawyer of international standing, but was better known as 'the confessor of Rome': for four decades he heard confessions in the Church of Sant'Ignazio in Rome, where he is buried beside his confessional.
His cause for canonisation was opened in 1986, and its diocesan phase closed in the Vicariate of Rome on 24 June 2014, after which the file passed to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints.
