Who they were
A priest of the Order of Friars Minor, born on 18 May 1870 at La Torre de Esteban Hambrán in the province of Toledo, who served in several houses of the Order and in 1934 was sent to the friary at Pastrana, where he stayed until his martyrdom on 7 September 1936; as he died he forgave his killers.
He was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Benedict XVI, one of Víctor Chumillas Fernández and his twenty-one companions of the Order of Friars Minor.
