Who they were
Felice Porro was born at Cantalice near Rieti, almost certainly in 1515, and as a young man worked as a shepherd and farmhand for a family at Cittaducale.
In 1544 he became a Capuchin. For forty years in Rome he went about collecting alms, a friar-questor and mystic of wonderful austerity and simplicity, spreading peace and charity around him.
