Who they were
At Carthage, in present-day Tunisia, on the road called that of the Scillitans in the basilica of Faustus, the burial of Saint Felix, bishop of Tubzak and martyr, who, ordered by the curator Magnilianus to hand over the books of the Bible to be burned, replied that he would rather burn himself than the Sacred Scriptures, and for this was run through with the sword by the proconsul Anulinus.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 15 July as a bishop who would rather be burned himself than hand over the Scriptures, and was put to the sword at Carthage.
