Who they were
Félix of the Five Wounds (Félix Ugalde Irurzun) was born at Mendigorría, in the diocese of Pamplona, on 6 November 1915. Following the example of an uncle, he joined the Passionists and made his vows on 29 October 1933; he belonged to the community at Daimiel.
After the community was driven from its house in July 1936, he and two others tried to reach Madrid by train; they were recognised, taken off the train at Urda station, in the province of Toledo, and shot on 25 July 1936. Pope John Paul II beatified him on 1 October 1989 with Nicéforo of Jesus and Mary and 24 other Passionist companions.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
