At Limoges in Aquitaine, also in France, Saint Ferreolus, bishop, who rescued from imminent danger Mark, referendary of King Childebert, whom the people of this city wanted to kill.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 18 September as a bishop of Limoges who saved the king's official Mark from the city's mob.
