Fintán of Taghmon

Who they were
Fintan, also called Munnu, was an Ulster saint, son of Tulchan, who in 599 founded the well-known abbey of Taghmon (Teach Munnu) in what is now County Wexford.
He is best remembered as a defender of the Irish way of dating Easter: at the Synod of Magh Lene in 630 he opposed adopting the Roman reckoning, and he upheld his view again at a later synod against St. Laserian. He died at Taghmon in 636, and his feast is kept on 21 October.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
