Who they were
Francesco Antonio Fasani, called Giovanniello at home, was born at Lucera on 6 August 1681 and drawn to God from childhood. He became a priest of the Conventual Franciscans.
A man of refined learning, full of love for preaching and penance, he did so much for the poor that he never hesitated to take off his own habit to cover a beggar. At his funeral all Lucera cried: 'The holy Father Master is dead!'
