Who they were
Francinaina Cirer Carbonell was born at Sencelles on Majorca on 1 June 1781, the last of six children of well-to-do, devout farmers. Choosing poverty over wealth, which she knew could draw her from God, she stayed unable to read or write.
Moved by divine zeal, she gave herself to apostolate and charity and founded the community of the Sisters of Charity of Majorca.
