At Salsette in India, Blessed martyrs Rudolf Acquaviva, Alphonsus Pacheco, Peter Berno, Anthony Francis, priests, and Francisco Aranha, religious, of the Society of Jesus, killed by the unbelievers for having exalted the cross.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 25 July as one of the Jesuit martyrs of Salsette in India, killed for having exalted the cross.
