Francisco de Asís Arias Rivas

Who they were

Francisco de Asís Arias Rivas was born at Cantillana near Seville on 30 January 1875, was ordained priest on 1 June 1901 and was made parish priest of Lora del Río on 27 October 1919. Arrested at the end of July 1936, he was shot in the cemetery of Lora del Río on 1 August 1936. Pope Francis beatified him on 18 November 2023.
